Small round pebble ice, the kind that packs tightly into a glass and chills a drink fast instead of clunking about in two large cubes. The set makes 312 pieces in one go, arranged as 104 across three trays.
Filling is quick because there is no hole-by-hole pouring: liquid goes in and the lid, pierced with small holes, spreads it across the mould. The tray is rigid enough to carry to the freezer without slopping, and turning it upside down releases the ice more easily than a floppy silicone mould does.
Make a batch in advance and there is always ice for coffee, juice or a cold drink. It works with water, but also with juice or brewed coffee, so a chilled drink is not watered down as it melts.
